We are The Latin Collective

The Latin Collective is the UKs Biggest Latin Dance Promotion Company, hosting, amongst other events:
1. The busiest weekly clubnight in the country (Todo Latino Tuesdays @ Bar Salsa – Temple) 600+ attendees every week.
2. The longest running, single-venue, weekly clubnight in the history of the UK Salsa scene (Metrolatina Wednesdays @ Bar Salsa – Soho running with the same format since 2001).
3. Regular classes, clubnights and events at venues across the South East – London, Essex, Cambridge, Luton, Reading, Bristol and Brighton.

Since, being formed in 1998, The Latin Collective has brought the UK some of its most popular events. Our portfolio includes some of the biggest events that the UK has ever seen:

Since 1999, LATIN8 has worked on some of the biggest live Latin concerts in the UK (Los Van Van and Club Tropicana with Sir Harvey Goldsmith in 1999), DLG in 2000, Gilberto Santa Rosa in 2001 and Johnny Polanco in 2002, Roberto Torres - 2003, Jimmy Sabater – 2004, Larry Harlow in 2012.

Teachers and Performers
We hosted the UK debuts of: Nelson Flores (USA), 8 x World Salsa Champion Oliver Pineda (AUS), Tomas Guerrero & Santo Rico, Jorge Ataca & Tanja la Alemana, Korke & Judith, Kike & Nahir, Seaon Bristol, Francisco Vazquez & Monica Gonzalez (LA), Johnny Vazquez (LA) & Olivia D’Asso, Henry Knowles (NY), Jayson Molina & Brenda Byrd (NY), Tropical Gem (Italy), Frankie Martinez & Aisha Koswara, Ye Mambo, Fred & Joana, Sabor Y Fuego, Gabriel Perez & Melanie Torres and, of course, Eddie Torres – The Mambo King himself.

TV & Radio Work
In addition to a number of documentaries and features articles the team worked on The Esther Rantzen Show (BBC2 1999), Interviewed by GMTV, Sky News & Puerto Rican TV about organizing Bacardi World Salsa Congress-London. (2000), Channel 4 series Gok Wans Style Secrets (2013) as well as production credits on the motion picture Shine.

Charity Associations
In addition to Medecin San Frontieres, we have run events to benefit the Haitians Appeal Relief and The Boxing Day Tsunami Relief Appeal. But our longest standing relationship is with Save The Children.

Dance Events
Famous landmark events include Salsa Nation 99 (Equinox – London), The Salsa Showdown 2001 (featuring Descarga Latina, Santa Rico & Alma Y Sabor – forerunner of the Latin Madness – theatre style dance spectacular)

Dance Competitions and Dance Congresses
Starting with the 2000 Bacardi London Salsa Congress & Bacardi UK Salsa Championships we have hosted a number of weekend Congress weekenders both here in the UK (The London LatinFest and MiniFests and The UK Dance Congress (UKDC)) and overseas (Latin Collective – Sweden in 2005, 2006 and 2007, The Costa Del Salsa Weekender 2014 and the All-Ireland Dance Congress (AIDC) 2016 & 2017) .

Dance Festivals
As well as hosting numerous free outdoor events for thousands of people under the Latin Jam lrand, we have hosted The Annual Latin Rave Stand at the Notting Hill Carnival and between 2001-2005 we coordinated the Tottenham Carnival which pulled in 89,000 people to its busiest event 2005.
