London can be a little daunting even for the seasoned traveller, so we have put together some information about how to get here and where to go and what to do whilst you are with us:

The Weekender Site

All the venues for the London LatinFest are located in or around London and more detailed maps are available on the “Parties” page.
For the London LatinFest Weekender, we are using a single venue for both the Saturday and Sunday
SCALA, 275 Pentonville Rd, Kings Cross, London N1
(20yrds from King’s Cross Thameslink Stn – Piccadilly Line tube)

This venue is THE PREMIER VENUE for Latin events in the UK and is one of the favourites for latin dance performers from all over the globe. It is located just 100metres from the Kings Cross/St Pancras Stn (see the maps below) but can be reached even more easily via the underpass to Kings Cross Thameslink Stn.

HOW TO GET HERE

Here are some suggestions about how to get there.

BY TRAIN

Kings Cross/St Pancras Main Line Station is a terminus for the East Coast Main line as well as numerous commuter routes into London AND, most famously, the Eurostar Terminus. All of these place you within 5-10minutes walk of any of the venues or hotels listed for the LONDON LATINFEST WEEKENDER.

BY TUBE

The Railway stations are also served by several tube lines (including the Piccadilly, Northern, Victoria, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Circle lines). The closest entrance to SCALA is the Kings Cross Thameslink entrance which can be accessed by subways or a short overland walk from all other points in the station and is immediately adjacent to the venue.

BY ROAD

The area is easily accessed as it borders what is referred to as the London Inner Ring Road and is easy to find from the A1, A4 or A40 routes and is clearly signposted from most locations in Central London

PARKING

Parkable Areas are denoted by a green stripe on the map above. Basically anywhere that there is a
single yellow is FREELY parkable from 1.30pm Saturday 29 August
onwards (Sun 29 and Mon 30 Aug (the Bank Holiday) are both FREE). Single red line
zones are freely parkable from 7pm on the Saturday onwards.
BE AWARE THAT THERE may be some small areas where different rules apply
ALWAYS READ THE SIGNPOSTS adjacent to the roadside.

In addition to roadside parking, there are at least two dedicated parking sites located on adjacentss streets at reasonable rates (see the Blue Parking signs on the map above).

BUSES

Buses that run along Pentonville Road include 30, 73, 214. Additional buses that stop at Kings Cross Station include 10, 17, 45, 46, 63, 91, 259.

CASH POINTS, SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS

We have a cash point inside Scala situated outside the Foyer bar and
there are several cash points at Thameslink station adjacent to Scala – just turn right
out of the Scala entrance.
Everything you need is accessible within a few hundred yards of the Kings Cross
Station complex and for the dedicated shoppers amongst you, the tube network goes
everywhere.
In the local area there is a Tesco Express on Caledonian Rd as well as local shops and there is a wide selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets congregated around the station.

TAXIS

There is a taxi rank directly outside Scala. There is a second taxi rank at Kings Cross station, a three minute walk away. Local cab companies include
GLP 0207 281 9191 and X-press Cars 0207 609 9999

LATIN RAVE @ THE NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL

For those energetic and brave enough to make a whole weekend of it and head down
to the LATIN RAVE Stand on the Monday (which is the busiest and best day), we
recommend you head for Golborne Rd St and then head for the junction with
Portobello Rd. About a 5 min walk.
