Dedicated Beginners Room
For those of you just starting out in latin dance there is the chance to learn with your fellow “newbies” in a relaxed atmosphere and with some of the best latin dance teachers ANYWHERE. Plus you won’t miss a thing since you get to sample all the different styles on offer and at no extra cost.
Teacher Training Course
After the success of last years course and back by popular demand. The course covers all aspects of what is required to pass the UKA teaching exams for Salsa (and other Latin Club Dances); the different styles of dance; their histories; development; techniques for teaching; legal issues and teaching tips AND personal insights into the exam process and teaching Salsa.
ALL THIS PLUS, we now also have a dedicated room for the whole weekend. Places are strictly limited! so, if you are an aspiring teacher, book your place NOW.
Even More Bachata
By popular demand, we have managed to bring back our good friends Tony Lara and Simon “Lord Bachata” who will be teaching classes in bachata moves, styling, patterns and also bachatango PLUS the Urban Latino room will be playing much more bachata throughout the entire weekend.
Latin Hustle classes
And for those who took a shine to the Latin Hustle classes run by Nelson Flores & Stracy Diaz – we have more of this also.
The Return of Zouk-Kizomba-Lambada
Finally, back when we started SCALALATINA events in 2000, we were the first to introduce the famous Multi-room fromat that many have tried to emulate.
But now, we have gone one step further. On the Saturday night, we welcome back our colleagues from the Kizomba & Zouk scenes who will host an amazing party in the Balcony Bar and then on Sunday, when many of the Kizomba fans head off to a live concert, the Cuban crowd will bring a little corner of Havana to the Balcony Bar. So, we have a little of something for everyone.
AND, in 2011, we have organised to acquire an additional 500 capacity venue, The Hurricane Rooms, adjacent to SCALA (and connected via internal corridors within the same building) so that we will then have 5 dedicated rooms of dance across the entire weekend.
